What the Mountain
Passes On
Snowshoeing on Etna's northern slope, a family with heart, and a Michelin-starred restaurant that never forgot where it came from.
It has just snowed. The snow glitters in the Sicilian sun, so bright you have to narrow your eyes. You climb a small rise on your snowshoes, step by step, your breath visible ahead of you. At the top, you stop.
There's the sea. Far away, silver, almost unreal.
