Claudia Hirn — writing in the garden

Wow, hard to believe —
this is already
Issue 05.

With every issue I have dived deeper into extraordinary worlds. That is exactly what moves me, and exactly what I do with unstoppable passion.

This time we are heading to the sea. But you know me by now: this is not your run-of-the-mill beach holiday. These are truly special places.

It moved me deeply to see what people can build with so much initiative and strength. People who stand behind their culture, their traditions and the nature around them with heart and soul. They do not exploit that nature, they live with it.

Along the way, one thing became very clear to me: almost every place in this issue follows the same principle, quality over quantity. Because mass tourism destroys the very nature these people live from and with. I find it wonderful that so many of them choose this path consciously, think of the future and hand something on to the next generation that they can carry forward.

Quality over quantity.

Sometimes the protection comes from outside, as on Chumbe Island. But even there, the idea was born out of passion: to show the beauty of this world, to do everything to preserve it, and to give the people who live there a way to make a living from it.

In this issue I will show you beautiful places around the world and people who have chosen a slightly different path, simply because they love what they do.

Come with me to the sea.
