Liebe Leserin, lieber Leser,
Herzlich,
Claudia

Dear reader,
It is still summer outside — and yet this issue brought me the cold.
Do you know that moment? You are standing somewhere, a breathtaking landscape all around you, completely present. The tip of your nose is cold, your breath freezes as you exhale. And still there is this warmth, because this winter holds something quite special.
That warmth comes above all from the people behind it all. A Swiss man who stayed in Lapland because of a childhood wish, and who today keeps 38 huskies as a pack, not in kennels. A family on Mount Etna who bring the volcano's slopes, and everything that grows there, into their kitchen with real passion. A village in the Ore Mountains that has passed on its craft for generations — and where the nutcracker was invented.
These are the stories I make this magazine for.
Dress warmly and let yourself be carried along.
Six places this time:
— A wilderness camp with 38 huskies on the edge of the Arctic Circle in Finland
— Hot springs in the Chong-Kyzyl-Suu valley in Kyrgyzstan, reachable only on foot
— Snow on Mount Etna, with a view of the sea, and a kitchen that brings the mountain onto the plate
— A mountain hamlet with no road access in Val Sinestra, Switzerland
— A bear festival in the Pyrenees, where the bears come down to the village
— A Christmas village in the Ore Mountains that makes you believe in Santa Claus again
From this issue on, the articles are for members. The beginning of every story stays open to everyone — and my introduction to the issue does anyway.
Warmly,
Claudia
